I admit…when I first got to know about this book I was like “Whoa! Holy schmolly!” . Who would have thought of such an interesting name for a book?
Well, Singapore Sucks! is a collection of poems and short stories written by Singaporeans and compiled by Singa Crew. They touch on topics that touches the Singaporean nerves in every one of us. These include titles like “Confessions of an SPG (Sarong Party Guy)” , ” Hubland”, “Uniquely Singapore”, “The Minister Who Cried Swiss”, ” The Homeless Singaporean” and ” What It Means To Be A Singaporean”.
Reading the book feels like going into the shoes of every day Singaporean lives. In fact, the stories offer a glimpse into the deepest thoughts, worries, desires, hopes and despair that befall us, as Singaporeans living in Singapore.
