Don’t Cast Protest Votes : ST, 27/1/10
The very sole purpose of the HDB being established was to keep public housing price affordable. This, it has done poorly at.
We are told that the HDB flats are sold “below market rate”. To which market rate are the prices pegged at?
How can it be argued that flats are assets that “will appreciate in value over the years” ? In matter of digits, the value does rise but if you compare it relative to flats market rates, they keep going on the rise all the same.
Singaporeans are not ‘daft’ – stupid, silly, mad – it’s the government that have always tried to make us so.
